Description:
The inventor was a partner in saw makers Andrews, Burbage & Co. The other partners were Joseph Burbage and John Andrews. Emanuel Andrews moved to Williamsport, Pa., and by 1865 was operating as E. Andrews & Sons, a business that made saws for over 30 years. In any event, we presume that this machine was intended for use in his saw manufacturing and was not itself not manufactured for sale to other saw manufacturers.
