Description:
The movable jaw slides on a stud, and is moved by a cam end on one handle. The effect is such that closing the jaws on an object will effectively clamp the jaws until they are released by separating the handles.

A known example is marked "Vise-Lock-Plier Seattle-U.S.A." with the patent date.
