Researcher Todd Werts says DA Morris won da diploma and bronze medal for his parallel vise at the 1856 Pennsylvania State Fair. It should be noted that in December of 1856, Samuel Gissinger & John W. Keliberg assigned a patent for "improvement for converting reciprocating into rotary motion" to D. A. Morris of Pittaburgh."
