Description:
According to the EAIA's "Directory of American Toolmakers", this miter box was manufactured by DeVoge & Co. of Cleveland, OH, which was apparently run by a relative of the inventor, Justin. The same month this patent was issued, Justin was killed in the collapse of a church under construction.
