Description:
This patent covers a method of simultaneously controlling the temperature and humidity, especially for (but not limited to) textile mills. The patent specification creates the impression that the inventor had performed many experiments to characterize the behavior of water vapor and air as temperatures are varied. He found that over the range of temperature and relative humidity normally desired in a textile mill, the difference between air temperature and dew point is practically constant. Thus, the relative humidity can be controlled by conditioning the intake air to be a specific number of degrees cooler than the inside air, while simultaneously using a water mist to bring the intake air to the dew point.
