The specifications note the Wiegand June 6, 1899 patent (no. 626,401 and Fisher Nov. 1, 1904 patent (no. 773,933).

This patent together with Lutz's subsequent patent (no. 1,081,684) were used in a friction wrench primarily employed as alternative to a ratchet handle in drill post equipment and related tools produced by the Lutz-Webster Engineering Co. of Philadelphia.
