From the 1870 Williams' Cincinnati Directory: "Hogan Patrick (Ritter, H. & Sowden) h. 519 W. 3d". We know that our Patrick Hogan was involved in some way with Adam Sowden, who was co-inventor on an 1874 patent. There are corresponding listings for John T. Ritter and A. Sowden. The business was located at 213 W. 2d. From the 1878 Williams' Cincinnati Directory: "Hogan P. J., Manufacturer of Patent Ground Saws, Hogan's Patent Saw Gummer and Hogan's Patent Cross-Cut Saw Handle, 213 W. 2d; Residence, 327 W. 3d."
