Stan Schulz U. S. RATCHET WRENCH ca. 1912 (FLICKR)
|
Description: |
An inclined surface on the adjusting ring retracts one or the other of two spring-loaded ratchet slides. Each of the slides engages a set of ratchet teeth; the two sets of teeth face in opposite directions. The U.S. RATCHET WRENCH based on this patent includes heavy sockets that fit into the square center hole in the ratchet head. Another set with this ratchet has "tanged" sockets that insert in the ratchet head. Corresponding British patent GB-190809973 was registered May 7, 1908. |
