Description: |
Multiple jaws, including ability to reach countersunk nuts, and grip pipe and similar round objects. The pipe gripping jaw insert sets on a spherical base. Adjustment for the movable jaw is a screw extending to the end of the handle. Corresponding Canadian patent CA-38,492 was granted March 15, 1892.
In function and appearance, it is similar to the "Tryon Wrench" (patent no. 667,143). Improved by Hussey's May 24, 1892 patent (no. 475,450). A wrench marked with that patent date has head and jaws more closely resembling this patent's design.
The NIAGARA WRENCH COMPANY was incorporated at Albion, NY in December, 1892 under the laws of West Virginia in relation to the Hussey patents. |
