Description:
Inventor Andrews was a partner in the Elmira saw manufacturer Andrews, Burbage & Co., the other partners being Joseph Burbage and John Andrews. They are listed in an 1857 Elmira city directory as being located at "w(est) s(ide) Wisner n(orth of) Water". Andrews later moved to Williamsport, PA where he operated the Williamsport Saw Works.

According to the 1873 "Subject-matter index of patents for inventions issued by the United States Patent Office", this patent was granted an extension.
