NASA page on the Low Turbulence Pressure Tunnel
Description:
An historian at NASA reports an example of this hydrometer, from Thermometer Corp. of American, that was installed on their Low Turbulence Pressure Tunnel, a wind tunnel that became operational in May 1941. An ad in Motor Age from that same year, from Kimble Glass Co., features a hydrometer with this patent number given; it seems likely that just one of these companies manufactured this hydrometer, and the other put their names on it. Since we do not know which is which, or even if our guess of a single manufacturer is correct, we list both companies as manufacturers.
