Description:
Couched as an improvement to 1,330,542. The locking means in patent no. 1,461,275 is noted in the specifications and not made part of the claims. The specifications also note the sliding connection at the rear of the jaws may conform to one or more of several patents including 1,330,542, 1,614,300, 1,444,729 and 1,553,623.

Harry W. Kulp and Martin C. Dellinger were the founders of K-D Mfg. Co. of Lancaster, PA.

This patent and 1,330,542 were found to have been infringed in K-D Mfg. Co. v. Waterloo Valve Spring Compressor Co. [13 F.Supp. 811 (1936)].

Patent no. 2,064,264 modifies the design to operate in more confined spaces.
