| A spring-loaded lever has teeth that grip rack teeth on the inner face of the sliding jaw. An internal latch on a spring holds the adjustment, and is released by a push button on the side of the handle.
Pat. no. 1,471,413 applies a similar adjustment mechanism to a sliding jaw "open end" type wrench. |
