Description: |
The swinging hook jaw is mounted on a base which is adjusted by a shaft with spiral grooves and a slide. The same adjustment mechanism is employed in Hemphill and Evans' nut wrench (pat. no. 1,391,179, Sept. 20, 1921).
Evans continued exploring the helical screw adjustment concept in subsequent patents 1,570,627 and 1,728,282. |
