Jeff Joslin Vintage Machinery entry for Paddock Tool Co., Inc.
|
Description: |
According to the website of the Paddock Tool Co., the inventor was retired and passed the time in the back of a neighborhood pattern shop owned by Harry Miller. He developed these three-wheeled bandsaw blade guides and patented them. Apparently Mr. Paddock died not much later and Miller purchased the patent rights rights from Paddock's widow for $150. It wasn't until the early days of the Great Depression in 1929 that sales got rolling when Miller hired a salesman to peddle the guides. They are still being made. |
