"This invention relates to indicator for taking graphical diagrams of the power exerted in steam, &c., engines, and consists in a method of securing the helical pressure springs over and outside the indicating cylinder, instead of inside...The spring b is outside the cylinder A, being attached by screw caps to a nut B2 on a long piston-rod, and to a cross-bar a bolted on the base A1, this cross-bar serving also as a guide for the rod. The arrangement may be modified. In a form described by the Provisional Specification, the part a is carried by the movable head A2 on the cylinder. A double lever A3 may be used, engaging between collars on the piston-rod." |
