Claim:
A safety device of a character disclosed, comprising, two members, a screw secured to one, a dual nut journaled in the-other and threaded on said screw, the elements of said dual nut extensively united for relative axial movement and unitary rotation, adapting the one to normally sustain a load while the second is relieved thereof and substitutes therefor in the event of thread failure of the first, and a drive gear coaxial with said dual nut and in coupling connection therewith when the elements thereof are in an extensible relation and uncoupled therefrom when the elements of the dual nut are brought to a compacted relation. |
