Claim:
Among the several objects of the invention may be noted the provision of a boring machine with means whereby the spindle of the machine may be readily precisely adjusted as to its angle in respect to the base of the machine, and whereby the accuracy of adjustment may be maintained the provision of a vertical boring machine, and more particularly a jig borer, having a base and a spindle-carrying column which extends upward from the base at the rear of the base, with means for readily precisely adjusting the column in both front-to-rear and transverse planes to locate the spindle axis perpendicular to the plane of the table of the machine, and for holding the column in adjusted position and the provision of a boring machine of the class described having means for high-precision centering of the spindle of the machine in the head of the machine and for elimination of play of the spindle in the head. |
