Jeff Joslin Vintage Machinery entry for R. K. LeBlond Machine Tool Co.
|
Description: |
This engine lathe has improved transmission support for carbide tooling: higher spindle speed, wider speed range, smoother operation at high speed, and faster feed. These goals are achieved via a worm drive and by disengaging all lower-speed gearing during high-speed operation. Worm gears are also applied to the back gear drive and the feed mechanism. |
