Description: |
Abstract:
In a circular grinding machine of the type in which the work v is carried on a reciprocating table w past the rotating grinding-wheel d, and the machine is driven by a self-contained motor k, all the shafts and gearing for driving the work are mounted on the outside of the machine so as to be readily accessible. The gearing for driving the work comprises a belt drive from the motor to a spur-wheel n, which gears with a wheel o mounted on a shaft p. supported in a bearing a<1> upon the machine frame, and in bearings in the work table. Upon one end of the shaft p is a mitre-wheel p<1> gearing with a mitre-wheel q<1> on the lower end of a vertical shaft q, upon the upper end of which is a mitre-wheel q<2> gearing with a mitre-wheel r<1> on a rotary swing arm r, which may be moved forward with the adjustable headstock b as required. At the other end of the swing arm is a mitre-wheel r<2> geared by a train of wheels to the rotating face-plate. |
