Abstract:
This invention relates to improvements in that class of harvester-binders' which cut the grain, bind it into bundles, and discharge the bound bundles from the machine, all automatically and without the intervention of hand labor; and the invention consists in certain novel details of construction and combinations of parts.
Claim:
In a harvester and binder in which the binding mechanism is located at one edge of the -grain-platform, an endless chain or chains arranged within the platform, in combination with the pivoted rake-teeth and mechanism whereby said rake-teeth are caused to rise above the top of the platform as they move toward the binding mechanism, remain elevated during a portion of their backward movement, and then descend below the top of the platform. for the remainder of their backward movement. |
