Jeff Joslin "Vintage Machinery" entry for A. B. Jardine Co.
|
Description: |
"This invention has reference to the construction of machines for upsetting tires and has for its object to catch the tire to be upset regardless of inequalities in the thickness of the said tire and to leave the heated part of the tire while being upset uncovered by the mechanism of the upsetter so that it may be hammered to take out the buckle or set caused by upsetting, while at the same time the motion of one lever will raise or lower both eccentric dogs or catches of the upsetter thus catching or relieving the tire to be upset and my invention consists of a lever, a connecting link and two connecting straps in combination with two eccentric dogs or catches for catching the tire." |
