Description:
The chain or strap can be turned so either side faces the work piece. The handle can be manipulated to bear on either the toothed or smooth side of the chain or strap.

The GRIP-IT chain wrench used this patent as well as Laird's earlier patent (no. 3,288,001). A similar GRIP-IT strap wrench corresponds to patent no. 4,145,938.

The patent cites pat. no. 1,860,012 as a reference.
