Vintage Machinery entry for Chandler & Taylor Co.
Description:
This is the first patent for the famous Heacock feed system. It provides infinitely variable feed speed and reversing, all controlled by a single lever. It uses two belts and two idler pulleys, but is very simple in its operation. This design was simplified even further in patent 404,002.
