Description: |
"The movable - jaw support of a wrench of the kind described in Specification No. 29,300, A.D. 1896, is connected over its whole length with the handle, which extends in the direction of the jaws. The fixed jaw a is carried by a bridge - piece b attached to the handle d. The movable jaw c with its guide-rod f slides in the channel e and can be actuated by the nut i, h working on the screw g formed on the end of the guide-rod f. The part i of the nut bears against the flat end of the part b and relieves the part h from strain when the jaw c is being screwed up." -- Abstract
Note: Early British patents (pre 1916) were numbered by the year and started at patent #1 at the start of each year in January. The patent # used in DATAMP represents the year of registration and the patent # (with "leading zeros" interposed to make the number total nine digits). This patent is #18,926 of the year 1907. |
