Description:
The wrench is primarily formed of stampings assembled with rivets. Two rivets hold all the movable jaw parts together including the adjusting worm and the pin it turns on. The stamped "yoke" which wraps around the main shank includes "ears" which form guards to prevent accidental alteration of the the adjustment. The patent was used for a series of adjustable wrenches produced by the Wakefield Wrench Company of Worcester, Mass. Some are marked with Wakefield's WIZARD trade mark.

The wrench was adopted by some vehicle makers for inclusion in tool kits. Examples include: 7 inch size marked INDIAN MOTOCYCLES HENDEE MFG. CO. SPRINGFIELD MASS. in addition to the WAKEFIELD WRENCH markings, and "MACK" WAKEFIELD No. 5 PAT'D.

Corresponding Canadian patent CA-199,686 was granted April 27, 1920.
