Description: |
The focus of Sanders' patent is the flat oval shank with threads cut on the narrower curved edges, a movable jaw frame sliding on that shank, and the adjusting nut within that frame. The spring-loaded toothed jaw mounted on that frame is very like the jaw included in Ira Morse's April 21, 1868 patent (no. 77,076).
Both of these patents are cited on pipe wrenches produced by R.R. Rouse of Indianapolis, IN.
Rouse ads also related expired pat. no. 59,852 to the adjustable jaw for the combination nut and pipe wrench. |
