Jeff Joslin Vintage Machinery entry for Chamberlain Mfg. Co.
|
Description: |
This is the well-known Simonson log turner that became very popular in the North-west to handle large-diameter logs. Chamberlain Mfg. Co., of Milwaukee, manufactured this invention under the original patent, and several companies were making them after the patents expired, including Allis-Chalmers, Giddings & Lewis, and Clark Brothers Co. The later patents, the consecutively numbered 448,588, 448,589, 448,590, 448,591, 448,592, and 448,593, refine this original design, which was fairly crude. |
