Description:
Abstract: "The outer jaw C, instead of being adjustable on a screw-thread inverse to the thread A, as in the Peugeot spanner, is revolubly mounted on the unthreaded part of the rod, being held in place either by a key E entering the groove a or by a nut mounted on the top of the jaw, the rod in this case having a reduced head. [Reference has been directed under Patents Act, 1902, to Specification No. 22,707, A.D. 1891.](GB-189122707)"

Corresponding French patent FR-346,155 is dated Sept. 9, 1904. Compare this one to U.S. patent 841,986 granted Jan. 22, 1907.

Note: Early British patents (pre 1916) were numbered by the year and started at patent #1 at the start of each year in January. The patent # used in DATAMP represents the year of registration and the patent # (with "leading zeros" interposed to make the number total nine digits). This patent is #18,116 of the year 1905.
