Warsop's Wedge Tube Wrench (May, 1872)
Description:
A wedge-shaped toothed jaw slides in a dovetail notch in the wrench frame to provide grip for a pipe wrench. The inventor's name is corrected based on other sources.

Produced and marketed by Warsop as "Warsop's Wedge Tube Wrench." Corresponding U.S. patent 140,561 was granted July 1, 1873.

Note: Early British patents (pre 1916) were numbered by the year and started at patent #1 at the start of each year in January. The patent # used in DATAMP represents the year of registration and the patent # (with "leading zeros" interposed to make the number total nine digits). This patent is #1,247 of the year 1871.
