Description:
The "jaw" portion is a rocking cam to which the strap attaches. This structure is intended to make it easier to wrap the strap around the object to be turned. The specifications also note the strap is easily replaced.

Advertised as the M & O WRENCH by Martin and Ogden of South Boston, MA in 1910; advertised as the PEERLESS STRAP WRENCH in 1922, with a Chicago manufacturer.
