Description:
A slightly hour-glass internal shape, along with longitudinal and annular internal grooves, is intended to clasp the wood when the ferrule and shank are driven onto the handle. Screwdrivers with these ferrules, or of another patent, 783763, were still being offered as late as 1920 in the James Swan Company catalogue.
