Description:
The springs hold the clamp to the axle nut. The screw forces the jaw sides against the inner faces of the wheel hub, so that turning the wheel also turns the axle nut.

The wrench received Canadian patent no. CA-55,479 April 1st, 1897. In that patent it had been assigned to William F. Horton of Hicksville, OH.
