Description:
The patent is for the particular construction and form of the relative parts. The threaded portion of the main shank is nearly rectangular. The base of the movable jaw is two parts held together by the top of the adjusting nut and the pivot pintle for the swinging portion of the movable jaw.

An article describing the wrench's attributes appeared in the August, 1896 POWER. Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" notes Knopp was offering the wrench in 1897.
