Description:
A tapered socket for axle nuts mounted in the middle of a transverse arm, with padded clamping arms that are closed against the wheel hub by springs.

This appliance would hold the axle nut firmly against the wheel hub so turning the wheel would remove and replace the axle nut.

The phrasing of the specifications implies that at least prototype versions of this wrench were produced, and a trade journal piece noted a business organized at Crawfordsville, IN to produce the Yount wrench.
