HALL*S ELASTIC PIPE CLAMP (FLICKR)
Description:
Hinged "clamp" or non-marring grip -- supplemental wrench jaws -- for soft or smooth finish pipe. The outer sides have flat surfaces. The inner faces were to be covered with rubber or leather.

These were designed to complement Hall's screw-adjust pipe and nut wrench -- see patent nos. 516,485 (3/13/1894), 521,312 (6/12/1894), 523,810 (7/31/1894), 533,295 (1/29/1895), and 586,738 (7/20/1897).

The clamps were advertised in conjunction with Hall's wrenches.

Corresponding British patent GB-189419120 was registered Oct. 9, 1894.
