Description:
The patent is for the stop which limits the opening of the jaws, and aligns the wire cutter notches at that limit of motion. The pliers to which the patent applies is of the type in patent no. 299,033 (May 20, 1884).

Example pictured is marked "DIAMOND EDGE // N.S. HDW Co. // PAT. Nov. 25, 1890." -- N.S. HDW was Norvell-Shapleigh Hardware Company of St. Louis, MO. That model was advertised as "new" in 1913.
