Description:
The wrench locks an axle nut to its hub. It has a solid shank with a three-sided socket, and an extension with "teeth" intended to straddle the wheel hub. A swinging lever opposite the hub straddling "teeth" is pressed against the inside of the hub by a leaf spring.

Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" cites an 1895 "Iron Age" announcement as evidence the Williamsport Wrench Company produced this wrench; one known example is marked with the patent date.
