Description:
This is a very nice design for a clapboard/shingle holder, which uses a curved body of spring steel to act as both a tongue to fit under the previous clapboard. Once the tongue is in place, compressing the spring will drive a sharp point into the clapboard to secure the tool.

Note that the last page of the patent contains a correction. The patent papers give one of the middle names as "Harry", when it is in fact "Harvy".
