Description:
The jaw has a combination of a flat tip with fine teeth, an intermediate curved surface with coarser teeth, and a wire cutter portion nearest the pivot point. The jaws are shown on the "toggle wrench" in patent no. 2,280,005, but are patented independently of that tool.

The patent cites U.S. patents no. 656,394, 988,656, 1,141,786, 1,336,461, 1,442,083, 1,504,401, 2,280,005, and a British patent from 1910 as relevant prior art. It was used for the curved-jaw "Vise-Grip" locking pliers.
