Description:
The movable jaw adjusts by a threaded bolt. The base of the threaded bolt rides in a slotted bracket extending from the main shank, and the screw abuts against a "stop" which would hold the jaw opening to the adjusted size.

A screw adjust pipe wrench bearing some similarity to this patent and marked "L. Glynn" appeared in an early 2014 online auction. That wrench lacked the "backstop" which would keep the jaw opening extended when the wrench was removed from the pipe, and the adjusting screw was a "thumbscrew" with one free end rather than the housed screw shown in the patent.
