Description:
The major feature of the patent is the detachable handle, to allow operation in corners or other locations with limited access. A secondary feature is the side screw which can be tightened against the ratchet pawl to "lock" the head.

P.P. Mast (later Mast, Foos & Co.) evolved into a substantial farm equipment manufacturer.
