Description:
"This invention relates to a combination guard and support for a jointer fence. More specifically it relates to a device for guarding that portion of the jointer cutter which is not being used for a given setting of the jointer fence, namely, ordinarily the portion to the right of the fence. Another object is to provide means to support the jointer fence at a point remote from the front end thereof, whereby the yielding or play of the jointer fence may be minimized, said support, nevertheless, permitting the fence to be tilted freely to any desired angle with the jointer tables. A further object is to provide such combined guard and fence support, which need not be removed from the machine regardless of the position of adjustment of the fence, so that no portion of the cutter knives will ordinarily be exposed, the new guard cooperating with the ordinary guard, which protect the left hand or active portion of the knives, to secure full protection of all parts of the cutters."
